An American Carol is a ham-fisted attempt to poke fun at the left, and Michael Moore in particular. Coming at a time when America faces multiple challenges (wars, energy, the economy), it's not surprising that this movie fell flat on its face (Rotten Tomatoes Tomato-Meter rating of 0%!).
