A South Carolina Roman Catholic priest has told his parishioners that they should refrain from receiving Holy Communion if they voted for Barack Obama because the Democratic president-elect supports abortion, and supporting him "constitutes material cooperation with intrinsic evil."I'm reminded of a song...The Rev. Jay Scott Newman said in a letter distributed Sunday to parishioners at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greenville that they are putting their souls at risk if they take Holy Communion before doing penance for their vote.

Does this mean fewer Catholics?
You know, there's an upside to this. If this fanatical priest in South Carolina pisses people off enough, maybe they'll finally realize that this whole Christianity thing is a bunch of hooey.

What this priest said and what he believes isn't right. He doesn't speak for the whole Catholic Church or all Christians. But to say "maybe they'll finally realize that this whole Christianity thing is a bunch of hooey." is just wrong to say about someone's faith.
I wasn't saying it about SOMEONE'S faith, I was saying it about the whole of Christendom. Nothing specific there, I'm condemning the whole lot. Of course, your mileage may vary. Use at your own risk.
